Account & Workspace
Understand how accounts and workspaces work in BarGuard.
Accounts & Workspaces
BarGuard uses a workspace model that supports both individual attorneys and multi-member firms.
Personal account
When you sign up, a personal account is automatically created for you. This is your identity on the platform — it holds your profile settings and gives you access to your workspaces.
Workspaces
A workspace represents a law firm or organization. Each workspace has:
- A firm name — Displayed across the platform
- Target jurisdictions — The state bar rules your pages are scanned against
- Team members — Invite colleagues to collaborate (available on paid plans)
- Its own billing — Each workspace has its own subscription and credit balance
You can create multiple workspaces if you manage compliance for different firms.

Workspace roles
| Role | Capabilities |
|---|---|
| Owner | Full access. Manage billing, members, and all settings. |
| Member | View pages, violations, and reports. Run scans. Cannot manage billing or members. |
Switching workspaces
Use the account selector in the header to quickly switch between your personal account and any team workspaces you belong to.
